"To empower our region and its individuals to reach its full potential, we need an education responsive to the needs of both today's and tomorrow's learners. Collaborations with organizations such as OneValley strengthen and empower our efforts to support and equip innovators, entrepreneurs, and tomorrow's leaders with the tools and resources needed for the development of evidence-based educational solutions that transform education and the future of our region" said José Escamilla, Director of Teclabs, Tecnológico de Monterrey disruptive innovation unit.
Through this partnership, Tecnológico de Monterrey will now use OneValley's Passport platform to offer its digital, dynamic, and future-oriented edtech programs to innovators in Latin America and around the world. Founders enrolled in these programs will have the opportunity to join OneValley's global community of more than 35,000 entrepreneurs from 140 countries, 450 investors, and 140 mentors. They will also have access to over $950,000 in discounts and credits from over 100 leading technology service providers including AWS, IBM, Zoom, Salesforce, and Stripe. Likewise, OneValley will for the first time provide its community access to Spanish-speaking mentors and innovation resources and services in Spanish, curated and/or developed by Tecnológico de Monterrey.
“Through this partnership, Spanish-speaking entrepreneurs everywhere will have access to Tec de Monterrey’s world-class entrepreneurship programs as well as Passport’s global innovation network and resources. We are excited to foster the entrepreneurship ecosystem across Latin America, which has immense potential for growth and innovation,” said Nikhil Sinha, CEO of OneValley.
Tecnológico de Monterrey is the first Latin America-based university to partner with OneValley, which powers some of the world’s top startup ecosystems with deployments in the United States, United Kingdom, India, South Korea, and Saudi Arabia. The platform will be first integrated into the TecLabs Incubator program, which guides the solution development process of aspiring edtech entrepreneurs, from identifying and understanding a specific market problem to developing a low-fidelity prototype.
The call to apply, launched on August 25th, attracted more than 100 innovators from 13 countries in the world. The 30 applicants selected to participate in the 12-month self-directed program started its comprehensive training at the end of November accompanied by top educational and entrepreneurship experts from Tecnologico de Monterrey and its partners.
